    west central St. Bernard Parish in southeast Louisiana...
    this includes the city of Chalmette...
    north central St. Charles Parish in southeast Louisiana...
    southeastern Tangipahoa Parish in southeast Louisiana...

    * until 815 PM CDT

    * at 709 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
    line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in
    excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending
    from 20 miles north of Metairie to Lake Catherine... or along a line
    extending from 11 miles southwest of Mandeville to 8 miles south of
    Eden Isle... and moving south at 15 mph.

    * Severe thunderstorms will be near...
    east New Orleans by 740 PM CDT...
    Chalmette... New Orleans... Violet and Metairie by 815 PM CDT...

    Precautionary/preparedness actions...

    This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path... prepare
    immediately for damaging winds... destructive hail... and deadly cloud
    to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter...
    preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.

    This storm has a history of producing destructive winds and large
    damaging hail. Seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay
    away from windows!

    the southern portion of The Causeway bridge by 720 PM...
    Lakefront Airport by 725 PM...
    Metairie and New Orleans by 740 PM...
    Kenner and New Orleans Armstrong Airport by 750 PM...
    Harahan... Bridge City and Waggaman by 755 PM...

    The primary threats from this storm are frequent lightning... pea to
    Marble size hail... and wind gusts to near 50 mph... which could down
    tree limbs and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a
    safe home or building until this storm has passed.
